On Friday, June 21st, the Board will hold a Special Meeting at 8 am at Hagan Elementary School. Robert Hendricks of the Educational Legacy Planning Group will discuss the feedback he received with the Board and seek their input before finalizing his report.

 

Big Read Winners

Congratulations to Spackenkill winners of the Big Read 2013. Pictured above from left to right are Michele Devlin, first place; Lavinia Liang, second place; and Kyla McCaffrey, third place. Their work is on display at Adriance Memorial Library in Poughkeepsie. The contest and the Big Read are sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. The program is open to all school districts.

 

Free Summer Meals

All kids ages 18 and younger can receive nutritious free meals during the summer at locations throughout Poughkeepsie and Wappingers. Read the flyers in English and Spanish for more details:

Music Boosters Baseball Fundraiser

The Hudson Valley Renegades invite the Spackenkill community to a fun evening of baseball at Dutchess Stadium on Wednesday, June 26th, beginning at 7:05 pm. Though students will not be performing, proceeds will still benefit the Music Boosters.

SHS Student Wins Art Prize

Congratulations to Spackenkill High School junior Michelle Devlin, who earned 2nd place in the ICreate exhibition at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut. The AP art student's portrait project was selected from over 400 entries reprsenting schools throughout New York State and Connecticut. The exhibition is on display through July 7, 2013. Elementary Transportation Survey

On Wednesday, June 5th, elementary school parents will receive a short survey regarding transportation service. Please consider taking this survey and returning it to your building principal’s office by Monday, June 10th.
