Nassau Character Education
At Nassau Elementary School, many students and teachers begin their day with a Morning Meeting. Based on the principles of the Responsive Classroom, classes build a community spirit and practice respectful communication. By spending this valuable time together at the onset of the day, students learn valuable character education traits.
Additionally, students are recognized for random acts of kindness and respectful actions and receive a PRO Certificate. PRO stands for People Respecting Others. The certificate is publicly displayed for one month and then is given to the student at our quarterly awards assembly.
