Nassau Principal's Message
March 2010
Dear Families,
We’re almost there…winter is almost behind us and soon we’ll be feeling the gentle breezes of spring. It’s hard to imagine as I write this on our snow day and watch the white blanket cover the landscape. The calendar does tell us March 20th is the first day of spring!
February was a busy month with PARP activities! Thanks to our reading partners for a very successful program with special thanks to our PTA for their assistance. Please remember to keep reading! Our winners of the Reflection Program, also through our PTA, were recognized at the February PTA meeting and we are so proud of the creativity of our children.
Some of the highlights of March include our fifth grade Science Fair on the 1st and our Nassau School Musical on March 19th. Under the fine direction of Mr. Murray and Ms. Berube, the play consistently provides our fourth and fifth graders the opportunity to shine and demonstrate their many talents.
As part of our parent workshop series, our Occupational Therapist provided many parents with valuable information and many suggestions at the February 18th meeting. Our next workshop will be in April and will pertain to New York State Assessments. I will send separate information to you and I do hope that you’ll be able to join us. Child care will be provided.
Be sure to check our web pages for updates regarding special events and programs. We post pictures regularly of our school activities to share with you.
Think Spring!
Fondly,
Barbara Craft-Reiss
Principal
