The Resource Room is a special program in our school. We get extra help in reading, writing and math. We use the computer to learn new things. We're working on our writing skills by doing fun projects. It is fun to go to Resource Room.

Nassau School is an elementary school. We have kindergarten through 5th grade. We have 19 classrooms. There are 37 teachers and 287 students. Our school is 34 years old.

Spackenkill is a small school district. We have two elementary schools. We have one middle school. We have one high school. Spackenkill is located in the town of Poughkeepsie.


The town of Poughkeepsie is located in the Hudson Valley. There are 40,143 people living in Poughkeepsie. The town is the 26th largest town in New York. One important business is IBM. One historic place is the Samuel F. B. Morse Home. We are 90 miles north of New York City.


Dutchess County is located between New York City and Albany. There are 30 municipalities in Dutchess County. There are 265,317 people living in the county. It is 802 sq. miles in area. It was named after England's future Queen Mary.

New York was the 11th state to enter the union on July 26, 1788. The state capital is Albany. Another large city is New York City, one of the world's largest. New York is 30th in size with 49,108 square miles. It was named for the Duke of York and Albany. He received the patent for New Netherland. The state's nickname is the Empire State because it is a leading economic state.
