We received a letter from WBNC and Jeep in July 2000 telling us that we won a weather station. The station was shipped to us on October 12, 2000. BOCES workers installed it on November 14, 2000. Two IBM engineers installed the software and the master control unit and display. During the past year our weather station has been on NBC channel 4 many times.

Our AWS weather station collects a lot of data. Wind speed is reported in miles per hour. It also tells the wind direction. It tells you the inside and outside temperature. The rainfall is reported for the day, month and year. It also reports humidity, wind chill, heat index and barometric pressure. All the weather is collected and saved into the AirWatch software on the computer.

Weatherbug puts live weather conditions on your computer. It will warn you about bad weather conditions. The temperature icon blinks and it makes a chirping sound when bad weather is coming. It shows the live weather conditions from our weather station. Weatherbug will also give you a weather forecast.
