Bear Sighting

Please be aware that a bear was spotted on Sheraton Drive last evening. It was then seen on Schoolhouse Lane. There was an additional reported sighting, in the City of Poughkeepsie, this morning.   Both the City and Town of Poughkeepsie Police Departments are aware of the sightings. This information is helpful to all of us as we plan for our children's safety.

Alex's Lemonade Stand

For five days during the month of February all Nassau students participated in the Jump Rope for Heart Program to help raise money for the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association helps to fight heart disease and stroke through research and education programs.

Students were asked to get donations from family members and friends before, during and after the event. Beginning on February 26th, the students went through stations which included jumping rope, bowling, target throwing, jogging with pedometer, and Wii dancing. The students also learned the benefits of maintaining a healthy heart and why it is important to remain healthy through exercise and eating the right foods.

We raised $5,730 for the American Heart Association through this event. Thank you for helping to make our Jump Rope for Heart 2016 another successful year.
