Mr. Murphy held a discussion regarding the role of the site team and what the team would focus on as the year begins. The group consensus was that attendance and tardiness were the areas that we would like to focus on. We discussed the questions that need to be answered to help us address attendance issues.

They are:

  • What are our numbers of absent/tardy students daily/weekly/quarterly?
  • Who are the repeat offenders?
  • When do we require students to bring a doctor note?
  • How can we tie in sports eligibility with attendance?

We also discussed utilizing E-School to report absences and tardiness to parents. We thought that this would tie in nicely with Dr. Powell’s district goal of increased parent communication.
