Mission Statement

Spackenkill schools, inspired by a tradition of excellence and a spirit of continuous improvement,
are committed to empowering students to succeed in an ever-changing world.

The function of the guidance department is to assist students to learn about their interests, skills and abilities and select an appropriate course of study. Middle level guidance focuses on developing social skills and interests while high school guidance focuses on developing a four year high school plan that will enable students to meet their goals after graduation [school to life], whether it be college, the military, or employment. Additionally, all the counselors work on transition plans for students with disabilities. These plans prepare students for their post secondary experiences.
