The week leading up to Homecoming is filled with school spirit and pride. Students dress according to the day's theme: Tie Dye, Dress Up/Down, Color Wards, and School Spirit, all leading up to the Pep Rally and Homecoming Games.
Junior Ring Ceremony 2012
Commencement exercises were held at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center on Saturday, June 23, 2012. Diplomas were awarded to 131 seniors. Congratulations to the Class of 2012!
Senior Field Day 2012
The seniors celebrated their last day of high school on June 8, 2012. They enjoyed a day of sunshine filled with games, laughter and friendship. Thanks to everyone who helped make this day possible!
Senior Awards 2012
The seniors were recognized with community service, academic achievement, and athletic awards on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. A small reception followed the awards ceremony. Congratulations to all who received awards!
Senior Prom 2012
The Senior Prom was held at Dutchess Manor in Beacon, NY on Friday, May 18 at 6 pm. Everyone who attended enjoyed delicious food, great music, and wonderful friends in a beautiful setting along the Hudson River.
Junior Prom 2012
On Friday, April 20, 2012, the ballroom of the Poughkeepsie Grand hotel was transformed into a night in New York City when the Spackenkill Class of 2013 hosted their junior prom, “City of Lights”. The students had a wonderful evening dining, dancing and enjoying time with their friends. There was also an ice carving of the Empire State Building as a special surprise for the revelers!
80 Miles from Broadway
Spack Onstage presented 80 Miles from Broadway an original student written production infused with Broadway's showstoppers on March 23-25. The students did a wonderful job and all who attended saw a high energy, fun-loving show. Thank you for your continued support of the program.
Faculty Basketball Challenge 2012
The Spackenkill HS gym was the setting for the Faculty Basketball Challenge pitting the green team against the white team. Faculty players from the district racked up points and raised funds for the Senior Citizen Prom. The green team won by one point, but there was a questionable no basket call against the white team at the buzzer. Next year white team?
Class Basketball Games 2012
The battle, held March 8, 2012, led to decisive victories for the sophomores against the freshmen and the seniors against the juniors. Students and faculty were on hand to cheer on their class teams. Congratulations to all the players who participated!
On Friday, January 27, 2012, Ms. O'Sullivan's Honors Physics students held the first Spackenkill Physics Carnival. Students constructed games in the fashion of actual carnival attractions, basing their designs on classical mechanics topics. The "games" took place during the lunch periods, where students and staff from the entire school were welcome to participate. Prizes were awarded, competitions ensued, and everyone had an enjoyable experience!
National French Week 2011
SHS French students celebrate National French Week using popular board games, EN FRANCAIS ! Clue, Guess Who, Scrabble and Monopoly were among the favorites!!! Vive le francais!
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Friday, October 21, 2011, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Spackenkill High School marking the official opening of the newly renovated high school. Tours of the new classrooms and offices were attended by many local residents and dignitaries.

National Honor Society Induction 2011
On Wednesday, October 19th, the SHS Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 48 new members. These Juniors and Seniors have cumulative GPAs over 87.5 and were selected by a faculty committee for character and commitment to leadership and service.

On Thursday, October 20, 2011, the Junior Class Officers were presented their rings during the Junior Ring Ceremony followed by their classmates. The entire class together with family members enjoyed a delicious breakfast.
Gradution June 2011
Spackenkill High School's graduation ceremony as held on June 25, 2011 at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center. Diplomas were awarded to 138 seniors. Congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2011!
Senior Field Day 2011
On Friday, June 10th, the Senior Class enjoyed their last day of high school, amid a beautiful day in the sun. The class, in teams of 8, fought their way through various athletic and carnival-like events. After enjoying a delicious lunch, generously catered by their parents, they ended their day with an award ceremony. Tearful goodbyes and many laughs were shared throughout this successful event. Special thanks go out to the Senior Class Parents, the high school PTA, our sponsors, Mr. Lanzoni, and Mrs. Johnson for making this such a memorable day!

On Friday, May 20, 2011 Spackenkill's Senior class hosted their Classic Elegance themed prom at Le Chambord, Hopewell Junction, NY. Attended by 145 students, music, good food, and beautiful sparklers created a spectacular evening and many wonderful memories.

On Friday, April 29, 2011 Spackenkill's Junior Class hosted a Masquerade Ball at The Inn at Arbor Ridge, East Fishkill, NY. The students had a wonderful evening dining and dancing. A chocolate fountain capped off an enjoyable evening.

Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Peanuts Gang, Spack Onstage proudly presents "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" 4/1-4/3/11.
Class Basketball Games
The annual class basketball games were held on March 24, 2011. Students were on hand to cheer on their classmates as the Freshmen defeated the Sophomores and Seniors were victorious over the Juniors. Congratulations to all who participated!
Mock Trial 2011
Spackenkill hosted a practice Mock Trial competition on February 15th with eight other schools attending. Judges listened to each case and awarded points for professionalism, quality of their direct and cross examinations as well as the witnesses' performances.
National French Week 2010
Spackenkill students celebrated French week with trivia contests, t-shirts, ribbons and ended the week making and enjoying crepes.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow debuts 2010
Spackenkill Onstage presented a stellar performance of the spooky Legend of Sleepy Hollow November 19-21, 2010.

The annual Spackenkill High School Senior Awards ceremony was held June 2, 2010. Community service, academic and athletic awards were presented to a large number of seniors in recognition of their hardwork and dedication over the past 4 years. A reception followed the ceremony.
Senior Post Prom Party
SADD hosted the Senior Post Prom Party at Hoebowl in Wappingers Falls. Students bowled under black lights, while music, food, and raffles helped continue the prom celebration. Open to all 2010 class members, the party was attended by approximately 60 seniors and guests. The party ran until 2:00 am and offered students a safe, drug and alcohol free event where they could have fun, relax and share memories of the prom.

The SHS senior prom was held on Friday, May 21st at Le Chalet on the Hudson. Enjoying breathtaking views of the Hudson River and a romantic, candlelit dinner, seniors reminisced and created new, sure to be cherished, memories. A spectacular time was had by all.
Junior Prom 2010
The Junior Prom, An Evening in Morocco, was held Friday, April 30th at the Poughkeepsie Tennis Club. It was a beautiful evening that illustrated all of the hard work put forth by the prom committee. Students enjoyed the evening and danced the night away.
Junior Post Prom Party
On Friday evening, April 30, the Students Against Destructive Decisions Club (SADD) hosted a post prom party for the junior class. The event was open to all juniors and was held at the High School. Thirty nine students plus their guests attended the event which featured open gym, karaoke, food, prizes and a presentation of the movie Up. The party ran until 1:30 am and it offered students a safe, drug and alcohol free event where they could have fun, relax and share memories of the prom.
Oliver! Opens at SHS
SHS Onstage proudly presents Oliver! Filled with spectular singers, dancers, musicians, and actors, this truly wonderful show overflowed with warmth and emotion. Months of rehearsals by cast and crew, created an incredibly memorable show.

Seniors in the City
The Class of 2010 traveled to NYC in December and had a chilly, wonderful day together in Manhattan skating, shopping and enjoying each others company.
Council for Leadership and Student Activities
On November 22-24th, students from SHS Student Government attended the NYS Council on Student Leadership and Activities state conference at the Saratoga Hilton in Saratoga Springs, NY. During the three day conference, students and their advisers attended workshops and heard excellent keynote speakers address the topics of student leadership, school spirit activities, building school community, fund raising ideas and the importance of conducting community service. Attending from Spackenkill were Brittany Lo, SGO president, Haley Ullinger, SGO Vice President, Breanna Syslo, Carli Salvati, Emma Feldman, Brian Caldwell, Luca Balbo all SGO representatives, and adviser Ms. Joann Klein.
National French Week
For week of 11/16/09, Spackenkill HS students celebrated National French Week with a variety of activities: daily trivia contests, guess the number of bonbons, theme days, and Friday's Crepe day. All French classes indulged in delicious student-made crepes and enjoyed the opportunity to be French for a day. Vive le Français!

The Junior Ring Ceremony was held on October 22, 2009. Class officers were presented their rings followed by their classmates. Juniors and their parents enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the cafeteria. The class poster, designed by Anthony Graves-McCleary and Phoebe Wang, was signed by all Juniors. Another class poster created by Hadia Shah was also displayed.
The Junior Class visited Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty on October 19, 2009. The weather was beautiful, the sites amazing, and the information eye opening. Everyone who went had a great time.
Freshman Class Trip to Walkway over the Hudson
On October 14, 2009, the freshmen class of Spackenkill High School went to the Walkway over the Hudson. The trip gave students a chance to synthesize information about the Hudson River School of Art as well as an understanding of the importance of protecting this natural resource. After they walked the bridge, students and teachers enjoyed a picnic lunch, a valuable opportunity to build personal connections on the freshmen team.
