Seniors in the City
The Class of 2010 traveled to NYC in December and had a chilly, wonderful day together in Manhattan skating, shopping and enjoying each others company.
Council for Leadership and Student Activities
On November 22-24th, students from SHS Student Government attended the NYS Council on Student Leadership and Activities state conference at the Saratoga Hilton in Saratoga Springs, NY. During the three day conference, students and their advisers attended workshops and heard excellent keynote speakers address the topics of student leadership, school spirit activities, building school community, fund raising ideas and the importance of conducting community service. Attending from Spackenkill were Brittany Lo, SGO president, Haley Ullinger, SGO Vice President, Breanna Syslo, Carli Salvati, Emma Feldman, Brian Caldwell, Luca Balbo all SGO representatives, and adviser Ms. Joann Klein.
National French Week
For week of 11/16/09, Spackenkill HS students celebrated National French Week with a variety of activities: daily trivia contests, guess the number of bonbons, theme days, and Friday's Crepe day. All French classes indulged in delicious student-made crepes and enjoyed the opportunity to be French for a day. Vive le Français!

Every fall, Spackenkill High School celebrates Spirit Week. Activities during that week include special theme days, Pep Rally, Homecoming Dinner and Dance.
Junior Ring Ceremony

The Junior Ring Ceremony was held on October 22, 2009. Class officers were presented their rings followed by their classmates. Juniors and their parents enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the cafeteria. The class poster, designed by Anthony Graves-McCleary and Phoebe Wang, was signed by all Juniors. Another class poster created by Hadia Shah was also displayed.
Ellis Island

The Junior Class visited Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty on October 19, 2009. The weather was beautiful, the sites amazing, and the information eye opening. Everyone who went had a great time.
Freshman Class Trip to Walkway over the Hudson
On October 14, 2009, the freshmen class of Spackenkill High School went to the Walkway over the Hudson. The trip gave students a chance to synthesize information about the Hudson River School of Art as well as an understanding of the importance of protecting this natural resource. After they walked the bridge, students and teachers enjoyed a picnic lunch, a valuable opportunity to build personal connections on the freshmen team.
