Mole Day October 23, 2009
Mole Day is celebrated worldwide annually on October 23rd to foster an interest in chemistry. It commemorates Avogadro’s number (6.02 x 1023), a basic measuring unit for atoms and molecules. This year SHS students studied the chemistry of tie dying. They experimented with different variables: fabrics, fabric treatments and dyes. The culminating activity was tie dying t-shirts.
