Todd Special Events

Trip to Washington D.C.

For over 35 years our sixth graders have been traveling to Washington D.C. Because of National events and springtime school responsibilities, we have changed the trip from being a springtime sixth grade trip to a fall seventh grade trip. The faculty and students look forward to experiencing all of the historic and cultural sites of Washington D.C. The cost of the trip is subsidized with financial assistance from the Spackenkill PTA and our Board of Education. The trip is three days long from Wednesday to Friday, and culminates with a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.

Drug Awareness Month 2009

October is Drug Awareness Month and a great deal is going on at Todd to educate students on the dangers of smoking, alcohol and drug use. One of the highlights was an assembly put on by teenagers from DayTop on October 29th. All Todd students had the opportunity to meet with and hear from three teenagers aged 14 to 17 currently in DayTop, a residential substance abuse facility in Millbrook. The speakers shared their stories first hand about mistakes they had made relative to drug use and the heavy prices they are currently paying as a result.
