The Adoration Of Jenna Fox
The Adoration Of Jenna Fox Mary E. Pearson
Young Adult Science Fiction
Seventeen year old Jenna Fox wakes up for the first time in over a year. She has no recollection of her life, her memories, or who she is. She struggles to recall memories, friends, and basic way of life. She searches by her own means and home videos of her life taken by her parents. But along with the memories come questions, questions that no one wants to answer. Jenna has no choice but to search for those answers, and comes across an essential truth. And no dictionary can help her now.
This book was good at portraying Jenna’s confusion throughout her search for herself, and her situation, while at the same time adding other elements like romance and humor. Somehow it all manages to tie into each other, and it makes you think about what you would do if you were in her situation. You couldn’t really call the book action-packed, but it manages to keep you on the edge of your seat from a few pages in. Even though it is told from a female perspective, this book is suitable for both girls and boys from around 11-15.
