Spackenkill School District is a special place. I look back at my years as a student at very fondly. I always felt safe and cared about. The teachers' passion shows. I had three incidents where they went above and beyond 1) I had a teacher pull me out of a class and take me to lunch for burgers just to reward me 2) I forgot my trumpet for a performance and the teacher let me use hers 3) One of my teachers actively asks about our mental health and individually checks in on us.
There is high school spirit - everyone comes out for games and cheers on our teams in Spackenkill spirit wear. There are few fights or any incidents of violence.
I do wish they offered more variety of foods in the cafeteria and more science and biology classes as that is my interest. Teachers who are sick are often forced to come in because there is a shortage and no substitute.
This pales in comparison to all the great experiences and relationships I have built with students, faculty, and administration.

small class size allows individual student attention. Teachers really care about the students succes and often go above and beyond for students. With many AP classes offered students are motivated to achieve.
Great school for your children to attend. Support staff workers are not paid well compared to faculty and administration or even other districts
