Seniors cheer at the pep rally

September 23, 2022
Dear Spackenkill Community,

Happy Fall! Over the past few days, the high school has been celebrating Spirit Week, sponsored by Student Government Organization (SGO). Each day had a different theme, with students and staff wearing patriotic, tie-dyed, Western, and Spartan-themed gear. There were also plenty of club happenings, not to mention in-person college visits.

This year, we also returned to the traditional format of having the pep rally in the gym (rather than outside like last year). Because many high school students had never experienced an indoor pep rally (the seniors were freshmen the last time we held one in the gym), Principal Malkischer had the seniors talk to the younger students about why the indoor pep rally is so much fun. Seniors explained that there is more energy, everyone can see each other better, and it’s fun to decorate the back walls. Thank you to the class advisors, who made this rally possible.
