A Message from the Spackenkill Superintendent

Please read on about these important topics:

Survey on Community Use of Track and Field

The Spackenkill Board of Education is updating the facility usage policy. We need to determine if the longstanding practice of allowing use of our track during the school day should continue as is or be updated in some way. The track and field is used as a classroom for our PE Department. Very few, if any, safety problems have occurred, and that is one of the reasons this policy has not been revisited. However, in today’s new world, where safety problems seem to occur with greater frequency, the Board has been confronted with concerns and is re-evaluating our current policy.

Students, Staff, and Community Members, please click here to take the survey.

School Closure Update

On Thursday, April 16, Governor Cuomo extended the New York State school closure to May 15.

Health Office News

Please read the information in this link from the Department of Health about donating blood:

Chromebook Issues

Our IT Director, Brett Hasbrouck, has reported that some Chromebooks belonging to students and teachers have been demonstrating glitches in participating in Google Meet. This problem seems to have been corrected. If you are still experiencing issues, simply restarting the Chromebook could fix the problem. This same problem does not seem to be present with other devices, such as Windows, Mac, phones, and tablets as of right now, so you might want your children to use a different device for live sessions if you continue to have problems with the Chromebook. We will keep you updated.

Report Cards

Grades 6-12 third quarter report cards are available on the Parent and Student Portals. More information will be forthcoming for grades K-5 from your building principals.

Scenes from Caravan of Stars!

Today, there was a district-wide celebration of Spackenkill! We boosted our morale and connected with each other through the Caravan of Stars! It was an incredible turnout of dedicated staff with their decorated cars and also a wonderful reception from our community! Please see photos and link to album below.
